چکیده
Introduction: Cone-Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) was introduced in the 90’s and studies have improved its use in dentistry. Objective: The aim of this article was to investigate the influence of three-dimensional (3D) images in orthodontic treatment planning. Methods: Two clinical situations (bone dehiscence and cervical resorption) were described by 3D images. Results: The orthodontic treatment plan was redirected to a simplified mechanics and control of the lesions during orthodontic treatment. Conclusion: 3D images are able to increase diagnostic accuracy and redirect orthodontic treatment plan. Abstract

The frequency of Accidental Dental Abnormalities and pathologic finding in panoramic radiography of orthodontic patients
Background and Aim: Panoramic radiography is routinely used in addition to clinical examination for diagnosis and treatment plan in orthodontics. The aim of this study was to determine the frequency and location of random dental and pathological findings in panoramic images before orthodontic treatment. Related to attending of private orthodontic clinic during 2013-2018. Material and Methods:...
متن کاملReproducibility of facial soft tissue landmarks on facial images captured on a 3D camera.
OBJECTIVE Fast and non-invasive systems of the three-dimensional (3D) technology are a recent trend in orthodontics. The reproducibility of facial landmarks is important so that 3D facial measurements are accurate and may-be applied clinically. The aim of this study is to evaluate the reproducibility of facial soft tissue landmarks using a non-invasive stereo-photogrammetry 3D camera. MATERIA...

Objectives In borderline class III malocclusions, the patients can be successfully treated by the orthodontic or surgical modalities, however; there is no consensus about the method with the best results regarding functional and esthetic parameters. The present study aimed to assess the treatment plans provided by academic and non-academic surgeons regarding borderline class III patients. Meth...

OBJECTIVES The aim of this study was to compare the orthodontic treatment planning for impacted maxillary canines based on conventional orthodontic treatment records versus three-dimensional (3D) information taken from single cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) scans. MATERIALS AND METHODS This study consisted of 40 individuals with impacted maxillary canines. Patients were identified from a...
متن کاملA method for mandibular dental arch superimposition using 3D cone beam CT and orthodontic 3D digital model
OBJECTIVE The purpose of this study was to develop superimposition method on the lower arch using 3-dimensional (3D) cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) images and orthodontic 3D digital modeling. METHODS Integrated 3D CBCT images were acquired by substituting the dental portion of 3D CBCT images with precise dental images of an orthodontic 3D digital model. Images were acquired before and a...
